SK Hynix announced that it has successfully developed the industry’s first 6th generation 10nm-class DRAM chip. The ’16Gb 1c DDR5′ chip introduced this time is said to reduce power consumption by more than 9% compared to existing models, which can reduce electricity costs in data centers by up to 30%. With this development of the 6th generation DRAM, SK Hynix is attracting attention as it has secured further competitiveness in the artificial intelligence (AI) boom. It was reported that the newly developed product will be ready for mass production within the year and shipped in large quantities next year. As for the 5th generation, Micron Technology in the United States successfully developed it for the first time in the world in 2022.
