Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (Facebook), announced that Meta is building the world’s fastest AI supercomputer to make the metaverse a reality. Research SuperCluster (RSC), which is currently in operation, is Meta’s current supercomputer, which is already the fifth fastest in the world, and by the end of this year, Nvidia’s DGX A100 GPU will be mounted to 16,000, which will increase AI training performance by more than 2.5 times. An official from Meta explained that it will be able to exhibit AI performance of (exaFlops, processing power 1018 times per second).
The AI supercomputer will instantly translate the conversations of users around the world and allow them to play AR-based games, Zuckerberg explains.
